Guard Dog Red

SO small,

so sick

yet so loving

he came to us on a cold stormy day in january

We cleaned him up

fed him food

took him to the vet

oh, how we loved to play with you

2 lbs 15 ouces doesn't last long

before we knew it you grew rather tall

the lbs kept adding,

you loe to fetch the ball

but late at night while all is well

you wait beside me on the couch

I hear you snoring

but then you jerk

what did you hear?

your head pops up,

you look around

nothing to worry

your here now

then a car door opens,

your ear perks up

I hear a growl

your eyes are closed,

your head still on the couch,

but you're still growling to let them know

don't be fooled by what looks to be a sleeping dog

Guard dog Red is on the job,

he's bigger now

and he won't let anything happen to the family that took him in from the cold

(and on that note, Red has a vet's appointment on Aug 12th)
